MALLIKA SHERAWAT:

Date of birth: 24 October 1981
Place of birth: India
Birth Name: Reema Lambha
Height: 5' 6½" (1.69 m)
Education: Graduation from Delhi University.
Favourite Movies: Sholay (1975), Silsila (1981) and Masoom (1983).
Profession: Actor Claim to Fame: ''Khwahish'', the Indian film, which had almost 17 smooching scenes.
Mallika Sherawat (born October 24, 1981 as Reema Lamba) is an Indian actress and model from the Hisar and Rohtak area of the state of Haryana. She has a degree in philosophy from Miranda House, Delhi University. She is infamously known for her controversial sex related statements. She has become the first Indian actress to work with Jackie Chan.
Sherawat adopted the screen name of Mallika to avoid confusion with other actresses named Reema. Mallika meaning "empress" is what she likes to call herself. Sherawat is her mother's maiden surname, and adopting the name was an acknowledgement to her mother's support in making Reema an actress.
In July 2004, the film producers' union IMPAA had banned Mallika from Bollywood, after a complaint filed by filmmaker Ramesh Sharma over breach of contract, and refusal to turn up on the dates committed for the film Kab Kyun Kahan (started in 1999).
Mallika acquired a sex symbol tag after the film Murder (2004) in which she starred, became one of the most successful films of the year.
Mallika Sherawat is the first Indian woman to get an offer to pose nude for Playboy magazine. Mallika, however, refused the offer due to her morals and upbringing.

A plain-Jane problem for Mallika - 8 Aug 2006 - 175 Views
There was a time when Mallika Sherawat packed enough punch to sell a project. So what’s so different about PNC’s next Pyaar Ke Side Effects? For one, Rahul Bose is paired with the sizzling Mallika Sherawat in a rollicking comic caper. It’s a look at a modern marriage from Mars — a man’s point of view. And debutant director Saket promises a roll in the aisles. We’re told even the hard-to-please Madam M was taken in by the funny lines, and she signed the film without any murmurs. And ended up mesmerising Mr. Bose!
